The value of design and layout to enhance written communication in any document is paramount.  A crucial part of document production is the visual appearance of the text - it should be clear and appealing to the eye. DTP QA assists in achieving this aim.

Specific requirements are applied for DTP-file checks against their originals. Files are checked meticulously and with great attention to detail to ensure that it will meet the client's needs.

Responsibilities include checking:

• fonts and styles used in the source text are the same in the target
• there are no corrupted characters throughout the text
• text has not run onto the next page in the target text
• correct graphics have been used in the target
• text in tables is aligned properly and that the columns are wide enough for the text in the cells
• numbers and names have been correctly reproduced in the target.
