Proofreading Service

I examine the text, discover what is wrong, and fix it.

As a professional proofreader my job is to put extra emphasis on catching the errors others have missed.  I scrutinize the text and check for incorrect punctuation, misused words, mixed tenses and other inconsistencies that detract from the overall work. I proofread the text not only looking for and correcting grammatical errors but also for logical and consistent presentation of the subject matter.

The SfEP states:

"The proofreader reads the copy for consistency in usage and layout, for accuracy in the text and references and for typesetting errors.  The proofreader, however, is only acting as a quality check, making sure that the copy-editor or typesetter has not missed something.  He or she is not responsible for overall consistency and accuracy."
